Professional Welcome

Welcome to the professional section of my blog. The blog entries in this section are intended to cover subjects in my primary areas of expertise, particularly accounting and information technology. Design, consulting and business related topics are some of the other areas I have focused on in the past. My resume can be reviewed at http://www.tylerhosting.com/dbell/resume to see what projects I have been involved with in these areas.

The categories are not broken down further, but the following are some of subjects of interest in each of the areas that I anticipate discussing.

Accounting
Taxation, consulting, non-profit

Business
Manufacturing, inventory control

Consulting
Small business

Financial Planning
Individual financial, retirement, and tax planning

Information Technology
Web development, database development, software, project management

Tax Accounting
Individual and business tax law, preparation, and planning

The efforts in this section will also be focused on identifying solutions in these areas than discussing personal concerns. When I consolidated my blogs into one I decided to leave most of the older log entries of a personal nature in a separate section for now.

Microsoft Word Outlining Primer

Introduction If you believe the endorsements of others I'm an expert in Access and Excel. I certainly don't know everything about either program, but compared to others, I’ve probably better harnessed the power of those programs than most.  I suspect I… more »

Getting Ready for 2013

Will You Be Ready? This is a good time for you to get ready for your 2013 tax return. I've spoken to several people filing their returns who indicated they had education, medical, or other expenses but they failed to keep track of them. Now is the time… more »

Count Your Taxes

Government systems are setup in such a way that they get your tax revenue and you rarely see the  impact of that taxation on your income. Your phone bills have taxes included. Your income taxes are taken out before you get your paycheck. Sales tax is a… more »

Jack or Genius?

A person that does many unrelated things is often referred to as a "Jack of All Trades", with the afterward "master of none." Unfortunately, that does not consider the possibility that a gifted person may in fact be a master of many trades. In the dated… more »
