What is Tyler Hosting offering?

Initially, Tyler Hosting is offering a simple web hosting package, the Minimalist, with 100MB of space and 1G of Bandwidth. Most hosting companies offer considerably more space and bandwidth, but at a higher rate. Many small sites, however, never need or use that extra space.

The Tyler Hosting account includes a wealth of site development and maintenance features. The cPanel control panel includes tools for setting up Email addresses, file management access, and the popular awstats statistics software. See the cPanel website at cpanel.net for a tour of cpanel. For your safety some features have not been included. Additional cpanel features may be requested as needed.

One feature of cPanel is the variety of web software that you can install in a matter of minutes using Fantastico. Among the software available for automated installation is Wordpress, b2evolution, Drupal, Joomla, phpBB, Zen Cart, and the Coppermine Photo Gallery. There are also mailing lists, project management tools, site builders and wikis.

You will need a domain name and the hosting account does not include it. The domain name may be purchased at one of thousands of domain registrars on the internet. Domain names are registered on an annual basis, at about $10 per year. To insure you keep the same name, you may want to register for several years. Godaddy.com is a popular registrar, although there are others that may be less expensive.

Note: This package is a hosting service only, like web real estate. As with most hosting services, clients are responsible for all of the content of the website and necessary backups of pages, email, and databases. If you decide to drop or move your site to a new host, a refund for full months of unused service may be requested. Tyler Hosting will not permit organizations to publish objectionable material or use the resources for objectionable means. Tyler Hosting will also monitor the abuse of bulk email.
